Participants will receive Dan’s new book on this topic due out in June!

Behavior concerns in the school setting are a huge challenge for elementary educators. We try
behavior folders, clip systems, time out and prize boxes. These systems are time consuming and demanding, but teachers are willing to do whatever is needed to deal with the behaviors faced. Unfortunately, a “one-size-fits-all” approach to behavior management doesn’t often work. Unfortunately, most behavior systems seem to be ineffective for the very students who need them the most.

In this fun and interactive day of staff development, participants will:
• Discuss the pros and cons of whole class management systems
• Analyze how our beliefs, language and practices impact our interventions
• Learn specific ways to differentiate support based on the social emotional needs of individual children • Examine the purposes of behavioral documentation and how to best collect it
• Receive examples of tracking sheets, parent notices and other reproducible resources

This workshop information can be successfully utilized by individual teachers; however, grade level teams are encouraged to attend together. This information is most applicable PK-5th grade. In addition to classroom teachers, counselors, vice principals, behavior consultants and other individuals who support discipline issues in the school system will find this information beneficial.

Why attend alone? The joy of staff development should be shared with colleagues and friends, so note the “Bring a Friend” Discount of 5.00 per person when three or more register from the same school.

Electronic registration for this workshop can be completed online at www.danstromain.com. For more information, contact Lee Anne Everett at laeverett1954@gmail.com or 210.826.3345.
